What is Terralith?
Terralith by Stardust Labs reshapes the overworld with close to one hundred new biomes and spectacular terrain — using only vanilla blocks. Because it adds no items or blocks, it ships as either a datapack or a mod (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge), and vanilla clients can join Terralith servers without installing anything.
Skylands, deep canyon systems, glacial fjords, volcanic peaks, and lush valleys generate alongside (never replacing) vanilla biomes, so the world feels expanded rather than swapped.
Setup and Compatibility
- As a mod: drop it in with TerraBlender (Forge/NeoForge) or its Fabric equivalent handled automatically; new chunks generate Terralith biomes immediately.
- As a datapack: add it at world creation for the pure-vanilla server route.
- With other biome mods: Terralith coexists with Biomes O' Plenty and Oh The Biomes We've Gone through region weighting; expect proportionally fewer of each mod's biomes.
- Structure mods (YUNG's, Towns and Towers, Dungeons and Taverns) layer on top cleanly, and Stardust Labs publishes compat notes for popular pairings.
- Locating biomes: Nature's Compass reads Terralith's registry, which matters when a quest wants a specific one of a hundred biomes.
Terrain worth hunting for includes the floating island chains of the Skylands, the geyser fields of Yellowstone, and destinations like Amethyst Canyon, Sakura Grove, and the mirror-still Emerald Peaks.

Both distributions exist with the same content. The datapack form works on vanilla servers; the mod form integrates with modded worldgen via TerraBlender.
Does Terralith work with Biomes O' Plenty?
Yes, both register through region weighting and share the world. Adjust TerraBlender region weights to bias toward one or the other.
Does Terralith add new blocks or items?
No, everything builds from vanilla blocks, which is why vanilla clients can connect to servers running it as a datapack.
