What is Farmer's Delight?

Farmer's Delight by vectorwing is the gold standard of farming-and-cooking mods: a gentle expansion that makes food preparation a craft. New crops (onions, cabbages, tomatoes, rice), kitchen stations, and multi-ingredient meals with lasting buffs turn the hunger bar into a gameplay system worth engaging.

Official builds cover Forge and NeoForge with a maintained Fabric port (Farmer's Delight Refabricated), and its ingredient standards are so widely adopted that dozens of "Delight" addon mods extend it.

Kitchen Setup

  1. Craft a Cutting Board and knife: knives portion ingredients (cabbage into leaves, meat into cuts) with bonus yields — the mod's signature interaction.
  2. Build a Stove (or use a campfire) and place a Cooking Pot on it: the pot cooks multi-ingredient meals through its own GUI, outputting servings into bowls or containers.
  3. Add a Skillet for fried foods and a Basket for collection.
  4. Upgrade your fields with Rich Soil (from organic compost): it accelerates crop growth and keeps plants nourished, forming the mod's premium farmland line.
  5. Grow the new crops from village farms and wild worldgen variants; rice paddies plant directly in water.

Meals grant Nourishment and Comfort — extended buffs that keep the hunger bar full and regeneration humming through long expeditions, which is the practical payoff for cooking properly.

The Delight Ecosystem

Farmer's Delight became a platform: End's Delight, Nether's Delight, Ocean's Delight, Chef's Delight, and many more community addons extend its cutting-board and cooking-pot standards to every dimension and mod. Big biome and adventure mods often ship their own Delight compat for cooking their materials.

Integration details worth knowing:

  • Cutting boards process many modded materials (bark from logs, portions from mob drops).
  • Compost loops turn farm waste into rich soil inputs.
  • Create, Botany Pots, and farm-automation mods all move Farmer's Delight crops correctly; the pot automates with hoppers.

Farmer's Delight FAQ

Is Farmer's Delight on Fabric?

Yes, via the actively maintained Farmer's Delight Refabricated port; the original targets Forge and NeoForge.

How does the Cooking Pot work?

Place it over heat (stove, campfire, fire), add ingredients matching a meal recipe plus a container where needed, and collect servings. Hoppers automate input and output.

What does Nourishment do?

It sustains your hunger bar while active, effectively pausing food drain. Hearty meals grant it for long durations, making cooked dishes far better than raw staples.
